About Angel
Born in Southern California, raised in Guadalajara, Mexico.
I came back to this country in the early 90's, a privilege that has afforded me the gift of being multi-cultural; crafting a voice and sharing a perspective that is original and uncommon for the industry.
In 2020, I launched Republica & Co., opening 4 restaurants and 3 cafes in the span of 2 years, earning every possible accolade along the way, including a James Beard Foundation nomination.
In 2021 I began writing and creating our own content, launching Ciencia + Ficción, and sharing the stories of our business, as well as those of BIPOC folk in our community.

Rose City 'Til I Die
Rose City ’Til I Die is a docu-series set in the city of Portland, Oregon.
Each chapter narrates the stories of BIPOC professionals, creatives, and business owners in a number of industries.

Through a number of conversations we dive into the topic of food, culture, race, and the city that connects us.
Each Guest providing their own perspective. Everyone of the conversations revolves around their business/career and its relationship to this city.

Memorable is a collection of stories, places, people, and things that not many know about this country.
Our goal is to share a perspective that is rich in culture and history, celebrating the people and the traditions that make each state so incredibly unique from one another.
